Harry’s Green Card: Meghan Can’t Make Him Work Without One!

Just how badly does Meghan Markle want her husband, Prince Harry to get a job? Well, some royal watchers have been asking that question ever since it was reported that Meghan flipped out over the cost of renovating their Frogmore Cottage home in Windsor. Of course, fans of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle know that Queen Elizabeth told the Duke and Duchess of Sussex that they had to repay those costs once it became clear that they were serious about stepping down as senior members of the British royal family.

Now, it’s too bad that Meghan and Harry couldn’t have chosen to live in Canada for the duration, rather than move to the United States of America. That’s because while in Canada, Harry would have less of an issue finding work. Canada is a Commonwealth nation, and as such, Harry still has some status. Such is sadly not the case in America. By moving to California, Meghan has now made it much harder for Harry to be hired and to bring funds into their family bank account.

Some have suggested that Meghan was setting Harry up for failure from the beginning. Considering the fact that Prince Harry has never gotten a university degree and has no experience working in a leadership position in any industry … getting work would be hard enough for the prince. Some might point to the fact that Prince Harry has ten years of military experience, and right now during the Coronavirus pandemic, Harry’s been invited back to the British armed forces. However, one can already hear royal watchers snorting, “Year right!” under their breaths. If anyone believes Meghan will put up with having to be the wife of a military man, they’re dreaming.

No one can expect that Meghan Markle would enjoy having Prince Harry be away from home and family for extended periods while she is left to raise Baby Archie and bring in the lion’s share of household income. Granted, Meghan has a much greater chance of bringing in millions of dollars than does Harry no matter the situation at this point. It’s like Meghan’s in a catch 22. The Duchess cannot have her cake and eat it too! Either Harry joins the army and goes away for long periods, or he stays in California with her but cannot work.

That is unless of course, Meghan sponsors Harry for a green card. Actually, Harry might be able to get one for himself if he found a company willing to hire him. He could sponsor himself even, but then Prince Harry would have to prove that he has some marvelous ability in order to earn it.

At this point, it all comes down to what Meghan and Prince Harry want and what they are willing to do to get it. If Meghan cares about the level of income Harry brings in, then she may have been better off remaining super-duper connected to Buckingham Palace. If it’s just about seeing Harry able to make it on his own away from the Queen … then nothing is stopping Meghan from applying for a green card on Harry’s behalf.
