One can almost imagine the giddy anticipation of Royal groupie, Omid Scobie as he waits for the “anticipated return” of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to Merry Old England. Apparently, according to Mr. Scobie, who has already written a sugary sweet “biography” of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex along with co-author Carolyn Durand, Harry and Meghan Markle are set to return to the U.K.
in a surprise move. Of course, when Prince Harry and Meghan Markle make the trip back to Britain, it won’t be for the long-haul although the couple evidently plans to spend at least five months in the United Kingdom.
It seems Prince Harry and Meghan have some plans, which include spending the summer in Prince Harry’s homeland where they’ll attend several events that are sure to be close to Harry’s heart. For example, Prince Harry will want to take Meghan and his son to the first presentation of the Princess Diana statue. Mr. Scobie has also suggested that Meghan and Prince Harry will be going to the Trooping the Colour ceremony, which is performed by regiments of the British and Commonwealth armies. He also asserted that Meghan and Harry will arrive back in England in March of 2021 and will stay until sometime in July.
Princess Diana Statue Presentation May be Emotional for Harry
As noted above, one of the reasons given by Omid Scobie for the return of Prince Harry and Meghan to the U.K. is the unveiling of a new statue of Princess Diana. Mr. Scobie noted that “on July 1, we have the unveiling of the Princess Diana statue.”
Prince Harry and Prince William put out a joint statement regarding the new statue of their mother, which was commissioned as a commemoration of Princess Diana’s death twenty years ago. The Duke of Cambridge and the Duke of Sussex’s joint statement read, “The statue that Prince William and Prince Harry have commissioned to commemorate their mother, Diana, Princess of Wales, will be installed next year on what would have been her 60th birthday.”
The statue will be installed in the Sunken Garden at Kensington Palace.

Visa Issues Maybe the Real Reason Harry is Headed Back Across the Pond
While Omid Scobie definitely has put Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s return to the U.K. in a positive, sentimental light, it may not be the real reason behind the Sussex’s trip. Although Prince Harry and Meghan recently purchased a massively expensive property in Montecito at a $14.5 Million price point and the couple seems to have plans to remain in California long-term, Harry’s American Visa may be expiring soon.
As most know by now, Prince Harry hasn’t attempted to apply for U.S. citizenship nor has he applied for permanent residency although he could considering the fact that he is now married to an American citizen. It’s quite possible then that the trip to Great Britain, which Meghan and Prince Harry plan to take from Spring to Summer 2021 is due to residency issues rather than any great desire on the part of the Duke and Duchess of
Sussex to see the British Isles once more.
