Kate Middleton Done Playing Peacemaker, Prince Harry Frozen Out & Prince William Moves Forward

It’s been reported that the Princess of Wales is no longer interested in acting as a go-between in Prince William and Prince Harry’s thoroughly estranged relationship.

As the wife who has known both brothers for two decades, she originally sought to step in and try to smooth things over. That is, until Prince Harry carried on with his royal taunts and public put-downs.

Kate Steps Away From Peacemaker Role

If you can recall, when Harry and Meghan did their Oprah tell-all, Princess Kate was keen to bring both brothers to speak to each other when they reunited at Prince Philip’s funeral.

However, she was said to swiftly exit the chat altogether when Harry would go on to continue his royal attacks once he flew back to the US. As a result of this, several sources report that she’s grown completely apathetic to whatever goes on between the brothers.

Taking this into consideration, Omid Scobie, one of the authors of the Sussex memoir ‘Finding Freedom,’ opined that he doesn’t see William and Harry’s deeply fractured relationship healing anytime soon.

“There’s always this talk of Kate potentially being the peacekeeper, the one that could bring the two brothers together,” he said, during his appearance on the new Sussex documentary, ‘Harry & Meghan: The Return of the Prince.’

“If I’ve learned anything over the years from covering them, it’s that Kate has very little to do with that relationship between the brothers,” the 45-year-old added.

William And Kate Look Ahead

On his part, Scobie, who has been accused of being chummy with the Sussexes, said he believes Harry has completely turned a corner.

Weighing in on the topic of the brothers’ fractured relationship, the senior royals editor at People, Erin Hill, also seemed to agree with Scobie’s sentiment, during her chat with the Daily Mail. She said the Wales couple have decided to simply “Keep calm, carry on, do the job.”

“So right now Harry and Meghan, they’re not a priority for them, and they’re very much looking to the future,” Hill said of the Waleses’ approach to dealing with the recently relocated Sussex family.
