Kate Middleton Got Personal With Prince Charles

During a very recent royal family outing, Kate Middleton seemed to have had a slip of the tongue in public when she referred to her father-in-law, Prince Charles, as “grandpa”, instead of using his official title. While it’s not exactly caught on tape, professional lip readers confirmed that the Duchess of Cambridge did indeed refer to Prince Charles, 72, as Grandpa.

Duchess of Cambridge Makes A Slip Up In Public

According to a report by the Daily Mail, a lip reader disclosed that 39-year-old Kate Middleton called her father-in-law “grandpa” at a G7 reception in Cornwall, England, for the Eden Project.

The royal family outing saw Queen Elizabeth attending the public event with Prince Charles, Camilla, Kate Middleton, and Prince William, where the royals welcomed world leaders to the G-7 summit on Friday.

“Hello, Grandpa! How are you?” Kate reportedly said to Prince Charles when the future monarch turned towards her and his son Prince William, 38, as seen in a video from their arrival. Her manner when she called him “grandpa” was warm and affectionate, with a bright smile on her face.

It may just be that the Duchess’ nickname for Prince Charles has just been mistakenly revealed. The word itself is very relatable to the Duke of Cornwall who recently welcomed his fifth grandchild, daughter Lilibet “Lili” Diana Mountbatten-Windsor, from his second son Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

Prince Charles has been a grandpa since the arrival of his first grandchild Prince George in July 2013. He has also proven on several occasions that he’s up to the task of being a grandfather, as he’s always had something to say on each of his grandchildren’s birthdays and he looks absolutely thrilled to have them be a part of his moments.

Royal Family News – Prince Charles Publicly Acknowledges His Latest Grandchild

The Duke of Cornwall, who had formerly congratulated his son and daughter-in-law, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, on the arrival of their second child, also acknowledged Lilibet’s arrival publicly during his speech at BMW’s mini-factory.

“The development of technology like electric vehicles, or green hydrogen for that matter for heavy transport, is vital for maintaining the health of our world for future generations, something I am only too aware of today, having recently become a grandfather for the fifth time.”

“Such happy news really does remind one of the necessity of continued innovation in this area – especially around sustainable battery technology – in view of the legacy we bequeath to our grandchildren,” he added.
