Apparently, the Princess of Wales wore a jacket from Swedish brand Fjallraven while she was going up the mountain. And while Kate Middleton is certainly free to wear whatever she chooses, a lot of people can’t help but wonder why she didn’t wear a British brand instead.

After all, Kate Middleton is someone who often champions British brands, knowing that she gets a lot of attention for the things that she wears in public.

But for some reason, the future queen of England is instead wearing the things that she feels comfortable in rather than wearing clothes that she’s obligated to wear.

It goes without saying that the internet certainly did have a lot to say about the matter on social media.

Some critics even commented with, “What if someone actually needed rescuing whilst Mountain Rescue was accompanying a princess who had her own staff with them? Meanwhile, who thought it would be a good idea to highlight that Kate was not wearing a UK brand?”

Did Kate Middleton Make A Huge Mistake?

Another critic of the royal family wrote, “What a shame there is no UK brands making hiking clothing… are you there Craghoppers? Rab? Montane? Mountain Equipment? Berghus?”

And then there was this comment as well: “So the powers that be at KP couldn’t find a brand that is a little more ethical than Fjällräven?”

“There have been quite a few controversies regarding that company and the way they treat their employees, for one. Or how they claim to be all environmentally friendly but don’t do third party certification.”
