After the incredible success of the first Christmas service hosted by the Princess of Wales, another one is coming this year, and it’s set to be as diverse and festive as the first one she arranged last year.
Actually, I think that it’s only a matter of time until Kate Middleton officially becomes the Princess of Christmas.
Kate Middleton To Host Another Christmas Service At Westminster Abbey
The aim behind the first Christmas service was to bring people together for Christmas, especially since the world was still recovering from a pandemic and the inevitable lockdowns at the time. The concert, “Together At Christmas”, brought people from different backgrounds together, including those who contributed to their local community in one way or another during the early days of the pandemic.
Proceeds from the concert went to support charities selected by the Princess.
While this year’s theme is yet to be revealed, we’re made to believe that, even though the general theme will be Christmas, people from different religious beliefs and backgrounds will be able to enjoy it.
This year’s Royal Christmas Carol Service, like last year’s, will take place at Westminster Abbey and will be covered by ITV. The special festive concert is set to take place on Thursday, December 15, with several members of the Royal Family attending. Special guests from across the UK will be attending as well.
According to a press release by ITV, the service will be special and encourage meaningful values.
“It will recognise the selfless efforts of individuals, families and communities across the UK, and highlight the remarkable impact that coming together to support others can have for us all.”
The show will be broadcast by ITV on Christmas Eve, but the time slot allocated to it is yet to be revealed.
Who Will Be Attending Kate Middleton’s Special Christmas Service?
While the official guest list is yet to be released, it’s predicted that guests will include a mix of the Royal Family, celebrities, and dignitaries. According to ITV, members of the public who have made a positive impact on their community will also receive an invitation.
It’s been revealed that the invitations for the concert has already gone out, but following the Queen’s death, Kate Middleton asked the hired illustrator to include a touching tribute to Her Majesty as a last-minute amendment.
The amendment lovingly paid tribute to the Queen by displaying her corgis. Speaking to Hello! magazine, Aurelie Baudry Palmer described being offered the role of the illustrator as a “pinch-me” moment.
She added: “It was such an honour to be approached by Kensington Palace to illustrate the announcement for the Princess of Wales’ carol service at Westminster Abbey.”
