King Charles Reportedly Not Ready To Engage Prince Harry And Meghan Markle

King Charles may have had his first year of reign overshadowed by Harry and Meghan’s attacks on the monarchy and Prince Andrew’s scandal, but he’s continuing to push on with his duties.

One of the things fans admire about him is that he didn’t deign to address any of the controversies and only let them wash over him as they arise.

Good to know that the Queen’s well-known mantra “never complain, never explain” didn’t die with her.

If you’re a fan of the royal family, it can’t have escaped your knowledge that Harry and Meghan have a bone to pick with the royal family and they’ve picked it time and time again, starting with the highly controversial Oprah Winfrey interview.

So far, there’s their “Harry and Meghan” Netflix docuseries, several interviews and Harry’s memoir “Spare” to add to the pile of bitter attacks on the monarchy.

In a recent interview, Richard Kay, who was a close friend of Princess Diana, praised the King for his silent response to the criticisms: “That’s going to go on. What’s interesting is what his response has been. He has remained stoically silent, indeed almost impervious to many statements and remarks that have come out of California, and that will continue. He is becoming what he wants to be which is the nation’s grandpa.” He added: “It was always going to be such a difficult act to follow after the Queen.”

Richard Kay – Credits King Charles’ Current Popularity To Wife Queen Camilla

Comparing Charles’ current confidence to his former demeanor, Kay said his current wife Queen Camilla helped him grow into his position.

He told The Mail’s Palace Confidential: “The Prince of Wales as he then was, was a confused man. He was constantly competing with his wife [Princess Diana] and unsure of himself.”

Kay said that Charles’ former ways often made him the center of public criticisms. “But the King as he is today? He’s a man much more comfortable in his skin in large part because of his marriage to Queen Camilla.”
