You might have heard rumors that King Charles stopped his treatment for cancer and that’s why he looks unwell. Or, if you hadn’t heard it, then it might soon hit the headlines per a royal expert. Read on for more details.
Where Did The Rumors Start?
It’s possible that reporters push an angle that the King stopped his treatment because back in December last year, NBC News reported about his treatment. At the time, the outlet said that his “cancer treatment will soon be scaled back, crediting an ‘early diagnosis, effective intervention and adherence to doctors’ orders.”‘
Well, in his Wednesday vlog on Daily News Headlines, royal expert Neil Sean responded to new headlines about him stopping treatment and looking unwell. According to him, we shouldn’t be “shocked, alarmed, and absolutely frightened to smithereens.” He claims the story is “very much more sensationalized” than it needs to be.
Stopped Treatment, Not Ended
What’s actually going on? Sean explained that the King stopped his initial treatment in London. But that doesn’t mean he has no medical care. While touring America and the Bahamas, he travels with “his own personal physician” and “his own blood bank.”

Additionally, King Charles also had a full medical check before leaving. “They simply wouldn’t let him out of the country” if he was in danger, Sean said. Plus, when he returns to London, he’ll pick the original treatment back up.
Why Keep Working?
According to Sean, the King “desperately does not want to miss out” on doing his job. He loves going out and meeting people. However, Camilla Parker Bowles apparently struggles to get him to slow down.
“She’s more exhausted than him at the end of the day,” Sean added, “and she doesn’t have this problem.” And anyway, she really can’t stop the King who wants to still enjoy life.
Media Scaremongering
Sean also took aim at critics who say the King looks pale or gray. He said that it’s just “one of the side effects” of the treatment. If the King wore makeup to hide it, the media would accuse him of “hiding something,” he added, saying, “You can’t win on either side.”
He concluded there’s “no need for worry” and called the headlines “really disconcerting” for the King to read. Plus, he wished King Charles the very best of good health.
Viewers React
In the comments section, lots of royal family fans took the time to have their say. One comment read, “I support the King and his choices. None of us have the right to question his decisions regarding his own health!”
Here are a few more responses from the discussion:
- The King has made his decision on his treatment, which we should respect.
- He temporarily suspended treatment. The MSM are truly deplorable.
- I am sure KC is being very well advised and he is not going to do anything that will imperil his health.
- I wish Charles the best. I have compassion for all battling through this illness. I don’t think there’s any one of us who has not been touched by it. And I don’t think we should speculate on the matter. We simply don’t know.
