King Charles Pays Official Tribute After Ahmedabad Plane Crash

King Charles and his wife, Camila Parker Bowles, heard the news about the tragic plane crash in Ahmedabad, India, on Thursday, June 12, and they felt shocked to the core. Soon, he paid tribute to the victims. Read on to find out what the head of the Royal Family said.

The Tragic Plane Crash

Multiple outlets reported on the crash that happened shortly after a Dreamliner 787-8 took off from the airport. The BBC confirmed that “241 passengers and crew died, and one British man survived, when the plane crashed.”

Footage on social media showed horrific scenes of billowing smoke and fire after the plane landed on a “doctors’ hostel in the residential area of Meghani Naga.” Some people who lived in the area died as well, and that pushed the casualty list much higher. 

The Tribute By The King

World leaders from across the globe paid tribute to the tragic and terrifying crash. Notably, the head of the Royal Family didn’t hang about sending in his own official tribute. It came via the monarchy’s official Instagram page just hours later. 

In his tribute, King Charles said:

My wife and I have been desperately shocked by the terrible events in Ahmedabad this morning. Our special prayers and deepest possible sympathy are with the families and friends of all those affected by this appallingly tragic incident across so many nations, as they await news of their loved ones.

The King also added a bit more in honor of the EMTs. He wrote, “I would like to pay a particular tribute to the heroic efforts of the emergency services and all those providing help and support at this most heartbreaking and traumatic time.”

Many people feel shocked and traumatized by the plane crash. So, they felt grateful that the monarch quickly paid tribute to the loss of life and the emergency responders. One of them wrote, “Wow, that’s really shocking. His words must bring some comfort to everyone involved.”
