King Charles wanted to have a millionaire’s family. That’s because he was hoping to have one boy and one girl while he was married to Princess Diana so much so that he was convinced that Prince Harry was a girl before he was even born.

Sadly, the future king of England was very disappointed when he found out that he was getting two sons from his wife. Here’s what you need to know.

King Charles Was Convinced Princess Diana Was Pregnant With A Girl

According to royal author Christopher Andersen, King Charles, who was still Prince Charles at the time, wanted to “even out” his family and supposedly “demanded” a girl, if that makes any sense.

He reportedly refused to look at the sonogram when Princess Diana was pregnant because he just knew that it would be a girl. Well, we all know how that turned out.

Andersen put it this way in an interview with Fox News, “He wanted a girl to round out the family. He was so convinced Diana was pregnant with a girl that he refused to look at any sonograms. Diana did look, however. ‘I knew it was a boy,’ she later said.”

Andersen added, “‘And I didn’t tell him.’ Diana would recall that time in their marriage, ‘We were very, very close to each other the six weeks before Harry was born. The closest we’ve ever, ever been and ever will be.’”
