Everyone knows that ever since the Megxit ordeal that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle put British citizens and the entire Royal Family through, the duke and duchess have been living it up in style. Prince Harry and Meghan have vacationed all over the world in excessive luxury, flying here and there in private jets (a few times a week at one point), and have lived rent-free at the palatial estate of one of Hollywood’s richest movie producers. Yet, at no point did Prince Harry and Meghan Markle pay for a dime of it themselves.
Indeed, without working an hour or earning a penny, Prince Harry and Meghan raked in over $6.2 Million in gifts, services, and products from companies, friends, and family according to Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand’s tell-all book, “Finding Freedom.” Some might say that’s the definition of ultra-privilege considering the fact that without working, and without touching savings or inheritance money, Meghan and Prince Harry managed to receive more money in a year than most people earn in a lifetime.
From Frogmore To Santa Barbara – Harry And Meghan Continue To Live In Ultra Luxury
Many people might be in awe when they learn that following Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s marriage, their living accommodations have all been in homes they didn’t earn. For example, Frogmore Cottage is an estate gifted to the Sussexes as a wedding present from Queen Elizabeth. The value of the home hasn’t been made public, but everyone knows that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle spent at least $4.5 Million in taxpayer funds on renovating the house. In other words, neither Harry nor Meghan earned the money they spent on Frogmore. It ought to be remembered that although Meghan and Prince Harry promised to repay the costs of renovation, they haven’t done so to date.
Following Megxit, Harry and Meghan moved over to Canada where they stayed in a huge, $19.5 Million mansion on Vancouver Island. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex did pay rent on the place while there, but it was reportedly well below market value. Following that, Prince Harry and Meghan moved down to California where they got an even better deal. There, they stayed rent-free in Tyler Perry’s sprawling $25 Million estates! Moreover, at no time did Prince Harry and Meghan pay for their hugely expensive security costs. Those were covered by prince Charles’s taxpayer-funded Duchy of Cornwall.
Finally, everyone knows by now about the ultra-exclusive home Prince Harry and Meghan bought in Montecito for $14.5 Million. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex didn’t earn the money to purchase that home either as it apparently came out of funds from Prince Harry’s inheritance.
Royal Family Upset By Image Of Harry And Meghan’s Spending
Perhaps if everything had been kept low-key, no one would be that aghast at the free ride Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have enjoyed. However, when Meghan Markle and Harry were seen receiving very public and lavish baby showers to the tune of $500,000, $43,000 pampering at a spa, and $8,000 acupuncture treatments the sheer expense was embarrassing to some, such as Queen Elizabeth. (Let’s not forget Meghan Markle’s $635,000 shopping spree for maternity clothes.)

Indeed, Queen Elizabeth reportedly was “unhappy” over the expenditures racked up by Meghan Markle and her grandson. The problem many see now is the fact that when Harry and Meghan abuse the public’s perception of them without consequence, and the Crown just continues to enable them, well … the mooching and privilege are just going to continue.
