Meghan Markle Courted for Tell-All Book as ‘Betrayal’ Sparks Royal Drama

Meghan Markle Courted for Tell-All Book as ‘Betrayal’ Sparks Royal DramaAccording to sources, Meghan Markle is currently knee-deep in offers to write a royal memoir that will give fans an insight into her two-year presence within the British Monarchy.

That is, if the docuseries, podcast, tell-all interviews and other television appearances haven’t caught us up yet.

Here’s what we know about the rumored memoir.

Source Shares Update On Rumored Meghan Markle Memoir

It’s been three years since Prince Harry dropped ‘Spare,’ and speculations over when Meghan will be dropping her own version of her short-lived royal story is yet to fade.

These speculations were further fueled when Meghan told The Cut in 2022 that she got her hands on the journal she kept as a working royal when she was cleaning out her old stuff from Frogmore Cottage.

Many, at the time, saw this as a hint that she would soon be going down Harry’s route and writing her own memoir.

However, a source told OK! Magazine that it isn’t a likely scenario. They said: “Meghan and Harry are cautious about everything they do and say to uphold the standards of the monarchy. Those [memoirs] are the types of projects they don’t want to do.”

Despite their 2021 Oprah tell-all being branded a hit job on the royals, the source claimed: “They do the best they can not to upset the royals.

Everyone who goes into business with them knows there are constraints, but it hurts the project’s creativity. They are adamant about having creative control and final edit and what they can’t say limits things.”

Another source, speaking to US Weekly, reported that the Duchess doesn’t see herself writing a royal memoir, despite it being “the one area where Meghan has a lot of financial clout.”

“It would be hugely lucrative for her,” the source noted, before going on to speculate that it might likely net her more advance payment than Harry’s ‘Spare.’

In comparison, Harry’s ‘Spare’ sold like wildfire in the first week of its debut, becoming the fastest selling nonfiction book of all time.

At the time, it was speculated that Penguin paid out the $20 million advance for a three-book deal, though it’s starting to look as if the royal isn’t interested in doing a follow-up work.
