Meghan Markle’s Embarrassing Behavior Kept Queen Elizabeth From This Important Event

British royal family news shows that there was speculation about why Queen Elizabeth was not present at her great grandson Archie’s christening ceremony. At the time the move raised eyebrows and it was hinted that the absence was a direct snub of the baby’s parents, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

Archie is now a toddler and living in California with his parents and baby sister. The ceremony took place when the family was still in the UK, before Harry and Meghan abandoned the monarchy in a hail of insults and accusations. The thirsty couple had not publicly burned bridges yet and the event took place at a private chapel in Windsor Castle when the boy was two months old.

But at Archie’s ceremony neither the queen nor her husband Prince Philip were present. This seemed odd for a variety of reasons. The absences were commented on after photos that were released at the time did not show Archie’s great-grandparents.

Later an official announcement was made that explained the reason for the omission. Apparently both the queen and the king had, “prior commitments,” according to Geo TV.

But the book Royals at War: The Untold Story of Harry and Meghan’s Shocking Split with the House of Windsor, shed further light on the situation. The book was released in 2020 and asserts that, “the monarch was sending an explicit message to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex by not attending.”

“Pointedly, the Queen and Prince Philip stayed away. They had been generous and understanding at their best. But they simply now felt publicly embarrassed by Meghan’s controlling behaviour, said a well-placed Palace insider.” Oh my.
