Even Meghan Markle never thought that she would one day live a royal life behind the gates of Kensington Palace. As a matter of fact, the former Hollywood actress joked during the recent red carpet premiere of The Lion King that she was quite surprised herself when her acting career took an unexpected turn the moment that she met Prince Harry. Here’s what she has to say.
Catching Up With Old Friends
According to People Magazine, actor Billy Eichner got to spend some time with Meghan during the London premiere of Disney’s latest live action film. Apparently, they had a lot to chat about as they caught up with one another and their lives.
“Meghan and I both went to college together — we were both theatre majors at Northwestern. We didn’t know each other when we were there, but we were there at the same time,” Eichner explained on Today with Hoda and Jenna on Tuesday while watching a clip of their meeting. “In the middle of this huge royal premiere you’re looking at, right there we’re having a very casual conversation about our acting teachers at Northwestern.”
Billy also added that after Meghan congratulated him on his success, he told her how proud he was of her new royal life. Meghan stepped down from her role as Rachel Zane on the hit USA legal drama Suits right before she and Prince Harry announced their engagement back in November of 2017. And as many royal fans know, the rest is history.
Meghan’s Sudden Royal Turn Of Events
“And she said, ‘Well, things took a little turn,’ ” Eichner said in his interview. “She was lovely, and they were so cool and down to earth,” he added. “You would never know that they’re royals.”
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle also got to meet with Beyonce and Jay-Z during the Lion King premiere. Even though she’s a royal now, the Duchess of Sussex clearly still loves to rub elbows with the Hollywood elite and some of her old pals from the entertainment world. Meghan was smiling from ear to ear during the entire event!

As with anyone, it is always pleasant and interesting to see and talk with people you have been to school with and/or you have worked with in the past. Many people pass through our lives at different stages. Most do not remain close friends, but they do touch our lives in some way nonetheless.
