Elizabeth Hendrickson (Chloe Mitchell) recently took to social media to announce the coming return of her character to ‘The Young and the Restless’. Her photo, with text, included Melissa Claire Egan (Chelsea Boudreau), which teases the renewal of drama between both Y&R characters.
As fans recall, Chloe conked the then Chelsea Newman on the back of the head after Hendrickson’s character admitted to blowing up the cabin with Adam Newman (as then played by Justin Hartley) in it. Chloe later faked her own death and was aided by Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) in escaping town two years ago.
Young and the Restless – Comebacks Are In Vogue
Hendrickson departed the cast in 2017. She recently returned, as Chloe learned Adam (as now played by Mark Grossman) survived the blast in September 2016. Her attempt to eliminate Adam at the tack house a handful of weeks ago actually backfired, as that criminal restored his memory.
Egan recently returned as well. The audience learned that Chelsea had been in text touch with Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) since last fall. That, along with her becoming aware that Adam never died, forced her back to Genoa City, Wisconsin.
Young and the Restless – Friends and Frenemies
Chloe and Chelsea were true friends at one time, thus making Hendrickson’s Instagram post by retro and preview savvy. Y&R fans are curious to see whether both ladies will be able to resolve their differences now that the seeming open-ended end of their relationship didn’t happen.
Chelsea deserves a complete explanation about why Chloe attacked her at the Chancellor mansion and then later made her believe that she died down south. While this personal conflict seems unlikely to be resolved within an initial episode, there is potential for advanced healing.

Chloe’s take on Chelsea might change when she learns that Adam is trying to take Connor Newman (Gunner and Ryder Gadbois). Chelsea’s feelings could also soften when she hears about Adam having kidnapped her and becomes aware of what he’s currently making Kevin Fisher (Greg Rikaart), with obvious implications for Bella Mitchell’s (Cali May Kinder) future.
Young and the Restless – Adam Remains The Target
Having lost all of his defenders, except for Sharon Newman (Sharon Case), Adam has become more than just ‘Khloe’s’ target. Making himself the bane of Chloe and Chelsea’s existence could prove to be Adam’s undoing.
The mother who feels that Adam ruined her life by taking Delia Abbott (Sophie Pollono) from her and the former wife who now fears who Grossman’s character could do to Connor can spark a powerful combination. Whether they’re willing and able to resolve their differences in order to face a common enemy tees up this poll question.
