King Charles has become known for his demands, according to a new book that Meghan Markle’s pal Omid Scobie penned. For instance, the King requires that a staff member carefully iron his shoelaces.
Find out all of King Charles’ requirements. And keep reading to learn exactly how much toothpaste a staff member must squeeze out for him.
King Charles Issues Very Specific Demands
It’s good to be King if you want a large staff who does exactly what you demand. And a new report via Page Six describes how King Charles has become known among Palace employees for his bizarre demands.
For instance, the King wants his staff to iron his shoelaces before he dons them. And Meghan Markle’s buddy Omid Scobie details other demands that King Charles makes in his new book Endgame: Inside The Royal Family And The Monarchy’s Fight For Survival.
Worth noting: Rumors have soared that Meghan spilled all these details to her journalist pal Scobie. And the gossip seems believable because the Duchess of Sussex has repeatedly criticized the royal family.
Scobie’s book also claimed that King Charles questioned the color of Meghan’s son Archie’s skin before the baby’s birth.
And someone (most likely the Duchess of Sussex) told Scobie that King Charles demands that Buckingham Palace staffers cook his soft-boiled eggs a precise number of minutes. The 75-year-old requires that his eggs remain on the heat for “four minutes — no more, no less, or they’ll be sent back to the kitchen in infantile fury.”
King Charles Throws ‘Temper Tantrums’ Over Wrinkled Pajamas
And Scobie doesn’t stop with eggs and shoelaces in listing King Charles’ demands. Someone with knowledge of the royal family also told the journalist that King Charles requires that his staff ensure he travels with “perfectly steamed” 1,000-thread-count bed sheets. And Charles also throws “temper tantrums” if his staff doesn’t iron his pajamas.
But in terms of odd demands, the toothpaste routine wins. And Meghan’s writer buddy claims that King Charles “likes to have someone squeeze exactly one inch of toothpaste onto his toothbrush for him ahead of his bedtime routine.”
However, Charles also feels very strongly about a certain bathroom accessory. And Scobie pens in his book, “But it doesn’t end there. The cherry on top of this ridiculous extravagance: the toothpaste must come from a ‘crested silver dispenser.”
However, the new book’s bombshells follow previous revelations about King Charles’ requirements for his royal day. For example, his late ex-wife Princess Diana’s former butler Paul Burrell revealed in the 2015 documentary “Serving the Royals: Inside the Firm” that Charles felt very strongly about what constitutes the perfect bath.
And Burrell revealed that in order to satisfy King Charles, “the water temperature has to be just tepid.” However, staff members must fill the tub only halfway. And employees must place the bathtub plug in a very specific position.
But when King Charles travels, Palace employees need to ensure that they pack three key items. First, Charles travels with his own toilet seat. And second, King Charles travels with his own toilet paper. However, he also takes his childhood teddy bear with him, a habit he developed in his 40s.
