Meghan Markle’s Remark About Prince Harry Triggers Online Laughing Frenzy

I think we’re officially in the era of; if you have a joke about Meghan Markle, then you absolutely must tell it. It hasn’t been that long since TV presenter Kevin O’Sullivan launched a scathing takedown of the former American actress, before ‘Comic Relief: Funny For Money’ host Joel Dommett decided it was absolutely necessary to join the bandwagon.

This is all happening in a month that saw the Variety report on the Sussexes’ crumbling deal with Netflix, and the release of interesting tidbits from royal biographer Tom Bower’s upcoming book. March must have got something against Meghan Markle for it to sting this hard.

But really, which of Meghan Markle’s many “truths” is bizzare enough to become the latest subject of such mockery?

Imagine it’s 2021 and we’re moments away from the takedown of the century. And by takedown, I mean Prince Harry and Meghan Markle sitting on Oprah Winfrey’s couches to moan about their sorry lot as former senior members of the Royal Family.

Apparently, even though the couple stayed with the institution for a mere two years following their 2018 wedding, there was still a lot to unpack.

However, many people found it weird and damn near unbelievable that Meghan Markle would claim not to have known of Prince Harry’s existence prior to meeting him. Hello? Friends with Princess Eugenie, and posing with Princess Kate’s magazine cover, anyone?

But the reality is that she said what she said, and Joel Dommett said this: “My wife slid into my DMs. The TV was on in the corner of the bar and she saw me on Lorraine,” he shared. “She hadn’t seen any of the junk [about a previous catfishing situation he fell victim to].”

He then joked: “That same way that Meghan Markle didn’t know Prince Harry – ‘Oh, what is a Prince?’”

Dommett, 40, is currently married to Hannah, who he wed three years after they met. The couple share a son, Wilde, and are currently expecting their second child.
