President Donald Trump singled out Meghan Markle when he commented on her and Prince Harry relocating to the United Kingdom. Often very blunt, he didn’t pull his punches, and that made for more division about all three people.

The Question From the Press

News24 Australia uploaded a video covering the moment a reporter asked about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

The question was, “What is your reaction to the recent news that Prince Harry and Meghan… left the United States and have gone back to the United Kingdom?”

Trump did not hesitate and spoke over the last few words, saying, “I’m happy about it. No, I was not a fan.” Initially, the room was filled with laughter, which might explain why News24 described the question time as hilarious.

Admiring the Queen

Reuters reported that the American President also said, “Look, I had a very good relationship with the Queen, really good.” He added, “I got to know her really well.” Then he talked about how the same goes for King Charles.

The President had nothing bad to say about the current or former monarch. Before he continued, Trump mentioned that he and Charles go back a long way. He explained, “I’ve known him for a long time, he’s a great, great guy.”

Hitting at Meghan

It seems that Prince Harry might have gotten some criticism because he’s not American. But it was Meghan who was singled out by President Trump.

She was born and raised in Los Angeles, California, and it appeared that DJT did not like her much at all. In the video footage he said:

“I didn’t like the way she acted. I thought she was terribly disrespectful to the Queen, [and] to King Charles.”

In fact, he seemed rather shocked that the Royal Family accepted their return to the UK, adding, “Maybe I’m different. I wouldn’t have taken them back. Frankly.”

The Duo Sticks In the Spotlight

The video also reminded royal family watchers that back in 2020, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex had chosen to leave the UK to follow their own private plans, but they managed to stay in the spotlight.

The Oprah interview was just one occasion when the royal family got slammed, because Harry also slammed them in his book, Spare.

Viewers React

In the comments section of the video, some conflicting opinions arrived, as President Donald Trump himself divided many people, especially with the current impact of the Iranian war.

One person wrote, “Trump’s opinion is worthless, he just says what he thinks pleases people, whether it’s true or not. If he had any honour he would make Harry’s visa application public knowledge, but he is a weak man and will not.”

However, others seemed delighted by the statements about Prince Harry, Meghan Markle, and the monarchy. Here is one response that was echoed across social media, “We will always remember how she mocked bowing to the Queen. And Harry said nothing in defense of his grandmother.”
