Prince Albert Shares That Princess Charlene Is Not In Monaco

Prince Albert surprised royal watchers when he announced that Princess Charlene is not in Monaco. Instead, she is in a treatment facility.

According to People, Prince Albert, Princess Charlene, and Charlene’s brothers jointly decided to send her to treatment outside of Monaco.

As the Princess is suffering from “exhaustion, both emotional and physical,” she is not expected to return for at least several weeks. They are not sure when she will be returning.

More Details On Princess Charlene’s Health

There have not been that many details about the cause of Princess Charlene’s ears/nose/throat issues. Turns out, it started out with preparation for dental implants.

According to Hello Monaco, the 43-year-old former Olympian had a sinus lift and bone graft prior to her May 2021 trip to South Africa. She went down to help one of her charities on awareness of rhino mutilation in South Africa.

However, her health became the main issue. An infection set into her ears, nose, and throat areas. The pain was extreme, and there was an immediate need for emergency surgery to deal with this situation.

Therefore, due to the nature of her illness, Princess Charlene was unable to fly. The pressure on her sinus area would be too extreme. Therefore, she waited until her doctors gave her the a-ok to return home. But, that did not happen without more surgeries.

Finally, Charlene was able to return home on November 8. However, it was not long after that it was clear she was not the same.

She has not been able to eat solid food for most of the year. She has lost nearly half of her body weight, and there was even fear that she could die.

Albert admitted that her current illness is due to the procedures. “Obviously there were consequences of her different surgeries and the procedures she underwent in the last few months.”

Illness Not Related To Marital Issues

Prince Albert made it clear that Princess Charlene’s illness is not due to any sort of marital issues. “I’m probably going to say this several times, but this has nothing to do with our relationship. I want to make that very clear. These are not problems within our relationship; not with the relationship between a husband and wife. It’s of a different nature.”

The Monarch also addressed all the possible rumors. “Because I know there are rumors out there, let me say: This is not COVID. And it’s not cancer-related. It’s not a personal relationship issue. And if you want to discuss another speculation, it isn’t related to plastic surgery or facial work at all.”

Currently, there is no information on where Princess Charlene is being treated.
