Prince Charles Set To Ax Some Of The Working Royals

Prince Charles Prince Charles, reportedly sick of his family’s scandals, will eliminate some members of The Firm it’s being said. What took him so long?

Speculation has long held that the prince will act swiftly and decisively once he inherits the throne. One of the first acts expected is that he chops down the number of Royal Family working members.

Part of his job has been done for him, courtesy of his son Harry and daughter-in-law Meghan Markle. Their dramatic Megxit probably saved him some angst as he prepares his furlough list.

One of Prince Charles’ First Jobs As King Is To Cut Down On The Payroll Fat

In addition to Megxit, the forced retirement of Prince Andrew has brought the ranks of active royals to a new low. Perhaps reading his mind, the magazine The Talko is speculating that the prince might wish to further trim back the Royal Family as a means of decreasing the amount of highly publicized, “drama and scandals,” on his watch.

The magazine notes that “Of course, this would increase the workload for those who remain but it would allow for less drama, less opportunity for scandals and create a more streamlined monarchy.”

One of the cons to this cutback would be the added burden placed on Prince William and Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge. They are next in line to the throne after Charles.

According to The Talko, “In addition to an increased workload for William and Kate, this would risk alienating hard-working members of the Royal Family, including Princess Anne.”

Princess Anne Is Definitely Not Allergic To Doing Her Fair Share Of royal work

Princess Anne, 14th in line to the throne, has for years had a distinguished history of recording the highest number of public appearances on behalf of the Royal Family.

Royal expert Lydia Starbucks thinks that relieving Anne of her duties would be a mistake, saying, “She does support such a huge range of charities and organizations and she gives them a much higher profile … were she to be taken out of the royal rota, they would lose a big percentage of the engagements they carry out every year.”

Who’s on the royal chopping block? That remains to be seen, but thus far William and Kate have an almost pristine façade, so axing them seems unwise as well as impossible, as the couple enjoys a tremendous level of popularity in the UK.
