There’s a new report that suggests Prince Harry is being accused of making a “tactless jab” at his brother, Prince Harry and his wife, Kate Middleton. That’s because Prince Harry suggested that he and his wife Meghan Markle only want to have two children due to environmental concerns. He made his comments despite the fact that the Cambridges currently have three children and are looking to add a fourth baby to their clan soon. Here’s what you need to know.
A Jab At The Cambridges?
According to Britain’s Express, Harry made the revelation while speaking with Dr. Jane Goodall in his recent interview with Vogue Magazine. He said now that he has a child, Archie Harrison, it’s forced him to think a little differently about the environment.
He said, “I think, weirdly, because of the people that I’ve met and the places that I’ve been fortunate enough to go to, I’ve always had a connection and love for nature. I’ve always wanted to try and ensure that, even before having a child and hoping to have children…”
Two Children Maximum
When Dr. Goodall exclaimed, “Not too many,” Harry added with, “Two, maximum.”
And now a lot of royal fans and observers believe that this might have been a direct jab at Prince William and Kate Middleton, who have had three children in the last six years. If that weren’t enough, recent reports have also suggested that the Duchess of Cambridge has been feeling “broody” and that she wants to get pregnant again by the end of the year.
Carbon Footprint
Of course, Prince Harry might have just been referring to his own family plans and not that of his brother and his sister-in-law. Still, a lot of fans couldn’t help but point out that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have a large carbon footprint themselves, seeing how they often take private jets to fly overseas.
So far Prince Harry himself hasn’t made any comments about the controversy. He and Meghan Markle welcomed their first child Archie Harrison into the world back in May. The Duchess of Sussex, meanwhile, is currently on her maternity leave.
