Prince Harry And Meghan Don’t Miss Opportunity For PR As They Hand Out School Supplies For Charity

How cute is it that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been caught by video cameras handing out school supplies to “help tackle child poverty?” Of course, some might argue that getting caught by these cameras is just a bit too convenient, and perhaps Meghan Markle and Harry arranged to be “caught.” According to reports, the Baby2Baby charity captured the Duke and Duchess of Sussex “hard at work” as they handed out “essential” supplies, such as food, clothing, and nappies.

Of course, not to be missed were Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s adherence to California state rules regarding mask-wearing due to the Covid-19 pandemic. They also held to social distancing rules, as Meghan and Harry gingerly handed items to parents through car windows.

For its part, the charity captioned a photo it shared on Instagram of the event, writing “We were thrilled to have the Duke and Duchess of Sussex join our team last week for a back to school distribution, spending time with students returning to remote learning due to COVID-19. Thank you for putting smiles on the faces of the children and families we serve and helping us provide the supplies, basic hygiene, and clothing every child deserves.”

Prince Harry And Meghan Got Tacky With Charity

Some might have argued that it was too convenient that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle should be captured helping out Baby2Baby by video cameras … and they would be right. That’s because it’s been reported that it was Prince Harry and Meghan Markle themselves who brought along the cameras! Apparently, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex wanted to “document” their work.

Now, many are shaking their heads in disgust since what this really was, was Prince Harry and Meghan using the issue of child poverty as a photo op. Whatever happened to not letting your right hand know what your left is doing? Prince Harry and Meghan must never have learned a thing about humility during their formative years.

However, some on social media weren’t fooled one bit. As one Twitter user Tweeted out, “A savvy, but transparent move. Also, it’s tacky to openly bring your own photographer to a volunteer opportunity.”

Another said, “… It doesn’t come across particularly well to bring your personal photographer along with you.”
Yet another angrily pointed out, “HQ pics, private photographer… if that’s not PR, I don’t know what it is”.

Meghan Used The Charity Event To Push Politics

While Meghan Markle is a US citizen and may be free to express her own political views, some also feel it was a bit tasteless for the duchess to use the child poverty charity event as a political stage. During her “charitable activities,” Meghan made sure to show off her feminist views by wearing a facemask made a female-owned New York-based company.

Moreover, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s activities appear to some to be an act of competition since Kate Middleton was previously active with children’s charities. British tabloids picked up the story and quoted Kate as saying, “Over recent months, I have heard from families who have been supported by baby banks through the most difficult of times and I have been deeply moved by their stories. Having somewhere to turn to for support is important for all families, and baby banks work every day, up and down the country, to provide immediate, tangible, and practical help for parents and carers when they are most in need.”
