Talk show host Ellen DeGeneres decided to honor her wife Portia De Rossi’s 50th birthday with a huge party. And in addition to celebrating Portia’s birthday, the bash featured a surprise vow renewal. Famously attracted to celebrity sightings, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry added a royal flair to the festivities, according to Radar.

Rarely seen together since the Duke of Sussex unveiled his shock-filled memoir, Spare, Meghan and Harry joined Ellen’s close friends for the celebration. For instance, reality TV star Kris Jenner stepped up to officiate the ceremony. And Brandi Carlile performed at Portia’s milestone birthday. Markle kept her smile bright as she and her hubby enjoyed the star-studded bash at a Montecito mansion near their own luxury home.

However, Meghan and Harry kept their style casual for the party. For instance, Markle wore a gray coat. And Harry chose a black blazer and white dress shirt. They watched closely as Portia strolled through the event in her Zac Posen gown from her 2008 nuptials.

However, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex enjoyed time with DeGeneres and Jenner only after Hollywood snubbed the couple. And that shocked Prince Harry. He had assumed that Hollywood’s elite would love him, claim insiders.

“Harry was so excited to move to California and assume he’d be dining at the top table with all the big players,” one insider alleged. “In London, he only needed to click his fingers and people would line up to invite him to their upscale bashes. But that’s just not happened for him and Meghan,” added the source. “And that’s a real kick in the teeth.”

And the insider noted, “It’s hitting home hard that the old-school types aren’t willing to let them into their circles.” But while Ellen DeGeneres and Kris Jenner don’t qualify as the Hollywood elite for whom Harry hoped, at least he does get invitations to their events.
