British royal family news shows that Harry and Meghan’s snubbing of social media could be hurting their brand. In the past Meghan compared social media users to addicts, and both have spoken out for cleansing the internet. Nonetheless, it’s been reported that Meghan has plans to reinvigorate her pre-Harry blog, The Tig.
Yet one a royal expert thinks that the couple’s lack of current activity online might be one reason for their bleak popularity poll numbers.
Royal Family News – Harry And Meghan Are On Instagram?
It wasn’t always this way. As mentioned above, Meghan once loved posting, so much so that she created her own blog. Then she met Harry. The Tig was shuttered shortly after she met Prince Charming, and since then she has gone on to call herself The Most Trolled Person of 2019.
Yet in April 2019, Harry and Meghan launched their @SussexRoyal account on Instagram. According to Cheat Sheet, “Five hours and 45 minutes after its launch, the page had gained one million followers. This was a Guinness World Record at the time. Previously, the record was held by K-pop star Kang Daniel, who reached one million followers in 11 hours and 36 minutes. Harry and Meghan no longer hold this record, however, as some celebrities have been able to gain one million followers in an hour or less.”
Royal Family News – Why Did Harry And Meghan Quit?
Their videos received millions of views and obviously someone, somewhere wanted to keep up with them. But when Harry and Meghan abandoned the royal family in 2020, they were no longer allowed to use the Sussex Royal brand to sell themselves and whatever else they could think of.
Royal Family News – Where Are Meghan And Harry?
Royal watcher Neil Sean claims the Markle’s lack of social media presence has dropped them down in the opinion polls. “As you know, Harry and Meghan decided to block down on social media,” he said in a YouTube video. “They didn’t want to get involved because they thought it was full of toxicity, as they said, and there were too many negatives attached to that. But as they’re now finding out, their popularity slumped because they’re not on social media.”

Sean noted that Prince William and Kate Middleton are active on Instagram, Twitter, and YouTube: “Catherine and William are becoming incredibly popular through their social media channels. This is simply because they are putting out content on there that people want to know.”
There may be hope yet for Meghan, according to the Daily Mail. Meghan’s business manager Andrew Meyer filed, “a new application to trademark the name “The Tig” in July 2021”, leading some to think Meghan is about to get back in the game. Speaking of games, Harry and his cousin Eugenie were pictured spouseless at Sunday’s Super Bowl. Later, national anthem singer Mickey Guyton posted a photo of her and Harry with their arms around each other to her Insta Stories.
