In December last year, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle won a prestigious award for standing up against structural racism and Kerry Kennedy was thrilled to make the announcement.
Anyway, the Robert F. Kennedy Ripple of Hope Award arrived for the controversial ex-royals amidst a huge and expensive gala. Folks were so happy that they stood against racism. However, in his interview with Tom Bradby, he backtracked on them suggesting the royal family was racist.
Prince Harry Causes Twitter Backlash Against Kerry Kennedy
Wouldn’t you have loved to be a fly on the wall in Piers Morgan’s house as he watched Meghan’s husband’s interview on ITV? Remember when he heard about the Award, Piers was furious.
In fact, he lashed out and declared it was “disgusting,” and called them “two little grifters.” Anyway, he really let his feelings out, because he felt that they “exploited and fleeced their royal titles for hundreds of millions of dollars straight in their back pocket.”
Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle might not have actually said “the royal family is racist,” but they clearly let it be known that they felt they had a case. When they talked with Oprah Winfrey, they spoke about how someone in the royal family made a comment about the skin tone of their yet-unborn son, Archie. Of course, the press ran with the allegations of racism and still does. Now that Harry backtracked, it’s Kerry Kennedy who gets mocked on Twitter.
Prince Harry Blames The Media For Racism Allegations
At the time of the Oprah interview, Time Magazine cited the brother of William as saying, “no one from my family ever said anything. That hurts.” That came after he said, “For us, for this union and the specifics around her race, there was an opportunity—many opportunities—for my family to show some public support.” There you have it, Harry essentially complained that his family was racist for not publically supporting Meghan. But in his interview with Bradby on ITV, he said that the racism allegations came from “The British press.”
Prince Harry droned on about “unconscious bias,” which is not the same thing in his book. So, Susan-Betty Love quipped, “Oh ok, so Kerry Kennedy gave them the [Ripple of Hope] award for fighting against unconscious bias in the Royal family?”
Plenty more similar comments arrived from those who mocked Kerry Kennedy for giving an award to someone who denied that they said that the royal family is racist.
The Roasting Continues
Kerry Kennedy gave Prince Harry and Meghan Markle an award because of their stance on racism and the subject trends right now. Here are some of those comments:

those who supported their "race crusade" now have eggs on their faces. Oprah, Shola, Kerry Kennedy who gave them an award for it, etc. Serves all of u right. Maybe next time u'll be better at recognizing when bad actors stoke & incite divisiveness for their own brand building
