Prince Harry Didn’t Choose The Cotswolds?

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle recently arrived back in the United Kingdom and are believed to be settling in the Cotswolds, an area known for celebrity residents and country charm.

Speculation On Living Arrangements

Naturally, plenty of commentators have speculated about their plans and future living arrangements.

On Saturday, entertainment and royal commentator Neil Sean discussed why the Duke and Duchess of Sussex chose the Cotswolds for their new home.

Some outlets reported that they considered educational facilities for their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
However, during his Daily News Headlines vlog on YouTube on Saturday night, Sean took a different angle.

Sean, who claims to have many insider sources, is often scathing about Meghan Markle. He also believes that Prince Harry’s choices are frequently influenced by her.

Revisiting Previous Residences

First, Sean talked about Meghan’s early days living in the UK. At the time, he said, she lived at a Kensington Palace cottage and her publicity team was “very keen to let the world know” where she was staying.

He also talked about her shopping at “posh” places such as “Whole Foods in Kensington.” Sean claimed Meghan had “a pass” that allowed her to avoid using the buzzer required for other visitors, but suggested she sometimes chose not to use it so she could create photo opportunities outside.

Discussing The Cotswolds

Sean also discussed the couple’s accommodation options and claimed that the Cotswolds wasn’t Harry’s idea. He said Harry might have lived somewhere quieter, “like Norfolk,” but “she’s not having it.”

Additionally, he described the Cotswolds as pretentious and claimed Meghan Markle wanted to become part of that social set. In his view, that was why Harry agreed to live there.

Claims About Other Residences

Sean also went back to the couple’s first stay in Britain. He claimed Meghan had pushed to live inside Windsor Castle, partly because it was close to London.

But he also said that there was “the proximity of the late Queen. She saw what was going on with Sophie and, of course, Catherine, and thought, ‘I want in on that.'” 

The commentator also opined, “So, when she couldn’t live in the castle, Kensington Palace wasn’t good enough, right? Buckingham Palace? No. No. Why should she live in there?” 

Then came Charles Spencer, Princess Diana’s brother. According to Sean, Spencer offered the Sussexes the use of  “the 17th-century Falconry property up at Althorp.”

He stressed, however, that they were never being offered it as a permanent home.

“I can tell you 100% that this wasn’t offered as a full-time option,” he said. “It was like a bolthole thing.”

Addressing Security Concerns

Turning to Prince Harry’s concerns about security in the UK, Sean dismissed his worries and pointed out that he walks the streets every day without any problems.

Fair enough, but Sean isn’t a member of the royal family. Harry has also attracted international attention and criticism by discussing his military service in Afghanistan, particularly in his memoir, Spare.

Viewers React

In the comments section, many of Sean’s followers seemed to share his dislike of Meghan Markle. They weren’t particularly fond of Prince Harry either. In fact, a recent Daily Express reader poll suggested that the couple does not have much support among the outlet’s readers.

One person commented, “In the elite enclave of Cotswolds, she is very Mrs Ordinary … it just hasn’t registered yet.”

Another critic commented on Earl Spencer’s alleged offer, writing, “Well, it’s a shame that he didn’t offer it to his SISTER when she asked for help. Well, believe me, we don’t want her in Norfolk EITHER.”
