Prince Harry, Duke Of Sussex Refuses To Give Up His Royal Title When He Applies For US Citizenship?

British royal family news teases that United States citizenship could force Prince Harry Duke of Sussex to reveal where his heart lays: what does he covet more, Hollywood Harry or Prince Harry?

Both his wife Meghan Markle Duchess of Sussex and their son Archie are American citizens and Brit Harry has been lecturing the populace about voting as if he is one, too.

But now royal watcher Marlene Koenig states that Harry could be stripped of his title if he goes legit and applies for US citizenship.

Talking to Express.co.uk, Koenig said, “He would literally have to, even though there is no law preventing him from still being called Prince Harry, but when you become a US citizen, you have to renounce any titles or allegiance.” That settles that.

Will Harry Show The World Where His True Allegiance Lays?

Harry and Meghan divorced his royal roots this year so they could make a ton of money—his family kicked aside like a bunch of useless hacky sacks.

At the time Queen Elizabeth allowed the greedy pair to keep their HRH styles but ordered them not to use their titles conducting business. In their typical passive-aggressive manner, the juvenile pair have pushed the line numerous times, by insisting on being called Duke and Duchess during events and conferences.

Some members of the public want Her Majesty to strip the couple of the ducal title

Koenig knows more about titles than the Average Joe so let’s let her explain it: “there are two Americans who are peers, one is the Earl of Wharncliffe and I’m sure he doesn’t use his title in everyday life, but I’m sure there’s nothing stopping him from using it. And there are at least two Americans who have inherited a baronetcy. You might not put that on your business card if you’re a carpenter but it’s not against the law.”

And here is the official word on the matter: Constitution Article 1 clause 8 states, “No title of nobility shall be granted by the United States: and no person holding any office of profit or trust under them, shall, without the consent of the Congress, accept of any present, emolument, office, or title, of any kind whatever, from any king, prince, or foreign state.”

Will Harry the Duke of Sussex request US citizenship now that he is acting like an American?

Koenig did say that Harry could follow a royal precedent established by Queen Victoria’s granddaughter, Princess Patricia of Connaught, who relinquished her titles when she married naval commander Alexander Ramsay in 1919.

What will Harry do? We think that somehow whatever it is comes with lots of drama and an aspirin bottle for the queen.
