Prince Harry MOCKED In Aviation ‘Legend’ Backlash: Petition Seeks To REMOVE Award

Prince Harry just sparked his biggest backlash yet. And social media united in feeling royally outraged that Harry managed to become named a “Legend Of Aviation” next to true legends like Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin. 

But some went even further in protesting the Duke of Sussex receiving the Legend Of Aviation honor. And a petition seeks to take away the award, as revealed below.

Outrage Explodes As Prince Harry Becomes ‘Legend Of Aviation’ With Real Heroes

Whatever happened to Prince Harry claiming that he wants privacy and security above all to protect his family?

In what seems like a completely reversal, the Duke of Sussex just paid for a press release announcing that he will become a “Legend Of Aviation” next to true heroes and legends Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin, per Reddit.

And rumors soared that Prince Harry also paid for what seems like a participation award in the world of aviation after flying a helicopter. But outrage has exploded at the news that a glamorous Beverly Hills ceremony will feature the Duke of Sussex becoming named a “Legend of Aviation” along with Armstrong and Aldrin. As one social media critic questioned, “Is this a joke?”

And with John Travolta as the host, the Duke of Sussex will receive his award at what actor Morgan Freeman described as the Oscars of aviation. However, Prince Harry received the recognition ahead of Charles Duke,  who became the youngest person to walk on the moon in 1972 at age 36.

Social Media Slams Prince Harry

However, Reddit and Twitter (now known as X) both filled up with angry critics slamming Harry. For instance, one commentator wrote, “I look forward to every other military pilot in the world being given the same award based on his accomplishments in that field.”

And another questioned, “Is this a joke? What is the legendary stuff that he has done? I am asking seriously! What the heck has he done?”

The ceremony originated in 2003 to pay tribute to those who contribute significantly to aerospace and aviation. And the Duke of Sussex did complete two tours of Afghanistan as a forward air controller and an Apache helicopter pilot. He also served for 10 years in the military, achieving the rank of Captain.

Meanwhile, a Change.org petition seeks to take away the honor. And it reads: “Request Living Legends of Aviation to Reconsider Award for Prince Harry.” Those who feel Harry doesn’t deserve the award can still sign it.

But at this point, the award event plans to allow Harry to join aviation and aerospace legends Aldrin, Jeff Bezos, Tom Cruise, Harrison Ford, Morgan Freeman, Elon Musk and Saudi Prince Sultan bin Salman Al Saud. However, the event publicity praised the Duke of Sussex for his work with charities. And the PR stated, “Prince Harry is a humanitarian, military veteran, mental wellness advocate and environmentalist.”

Meanwhile, the organization did offer a way to nominate someone (or yourself) as a Living Legend of Aviation. However, conspiracy theories soared after that page mysteriously vanished in the wake of the backlash and outrage.
