Every year, the Monarch basically celebrates two birthdays: the real one and the one that involves pomp, pageantry, and some summer sun, if said Monarch is lucky.
Known as Trooping the Colour, the celebration is typically held in June, and attended by several members of the Royal Family.
Even though Prince Harry is set to jet back to the UK soon, he sadly won’t be making the trip early enough to take part in the celebration.
Prince Harry’s Recent Trooping the Colour History
In the past – pre-Meghan – Harry has always stood front and center at the balcony, alongside his brother Prince William, sister-in-law Princess Kate, father and other working members of the Royal Family, during the Trooping the Colour celebrations.
In 2019, just weeks after welcoming their first child Archie, Harry and Meghan Markle proudly stood on the balcony, and watched the parade and the fly-past. It was also the last time they enjoyed such privilege.
After missing the event in the coming years, Harry and Meghan traveled back to the UK in 2022 to take part in Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum jubilee. However, their stage was nowhere near as grand as the balcony, as they watched the fly-past with some of the royal kids from a Palace window.
How Soon Will Prince Harry Return to the UK?
After being snubbed an invitation to Peter Phillips’ and Harriet Sperling’s weekend wedding, Prince Harry could possibly have decided to forego appearing with the family so soon after such a burn.
Since his exit, he has been exempt from Royal Family celebrations, gatherings, state banquets, and, apart from Queen Elizabeth’s funeral and King Charles’ coronation, official events.
Even though he is pushing for a royal reconciliation and proposing for a summer at Sandringham, it’s likely it will still take some time before he makes any kind of grand return on the royal stage.
However, the coming year might see him joining forces with his father in a big way for the 2027 Birmingham Invictus Games, set to take place from July 10 to July 17.
Reports say he offered Charles a grand role for the veteran event. Whether Charles plans to honor this invitation is yet to be determined.
In a few weeks time, Harry will return to the UK. Already, speculation has started on whether father and son will reunite during the visit.
