The renegade royal decided that while most royal wedding rings are made of Welsh gold, his had to be a modern, platinum ring with a brushed texture finish.

In a sweet and thoughtful family tradition, royal wedding bands are made out of Welsh gold from the queen’s Clogau St. David Gold Mine in Dolgellau, Wales. The family tradition dates back decades upon decades to 1923, when Her Majesty’s parents, King George VI and Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother, wed.
