Prince Harry To Wisely Stay Out of American Politics – Won’t Support Meghan’s Activism During Election Cycle

According to reports in British tabloids, Prince Harry will not be seen campaigning along with his wife, Meghan Markle, during the American election cycle. Evidently, Prince Harry has had conversations with senior members of the British Royal Family wherein he has been reminded that as a foreign national in the United States, it would be inappropriate for him to do so. It is thought that Meghan Markle’s activism in this regard will be limited to urging “marginalized” groups to exercise their right to vote.
For example, not long ago, Meghan Markle gave a speech that some took to be incredibly partisan. Speaking at the United States of Women and When We All Vote online recently, the duchess said, “This week we are recognizing the 100th anniversary of the 19th amendment, which of course gave women the right to vote, but not all women. And specifically not women of color.”
Meghan continued, saying that, “As we look at things today, though it has taken decades longer for women to get the right to vote, even today we are watching so many women in different communities who are marginalized. Still struggling to see that right come to fruition. And that is simply not OK.”
Harry Has His View But Won’t Be Speaking on America’s Election
Of course, insiders have suggested that Meghan Markle has vastly influenced Prince Harry’s politics since the two married. Everyone has seen Prince Harry jump on the Greta Thunberg bandwagon, claiming that humanity only has 12 years before extinction if something isn’t done about climate change. They’ve watched as Harry has lectured British and Commonwealth citizens on their environmental, carbon footprint … and then head out for multiple international flights on private jets all within the space of a week. There’s no question that Prince Harry is at least somewhat a (hypocritical) political animal.
However, in light of the fact that Prince Charles is still proving Prince Harry a substantial income out of British taxes, it’s not just British citizens who might think Harry will have gone too far if he joins Meghan in hyper-partisanship behavior. After all, Prince Harry has refused to apply for American citizenship and there’s even a new petition circulating online demanding that the Sussexes cease to shove themselves on America’s media. American citizens might join their brethren across the pond and look down on any political interference in the U.S. election, which Prince Harry might attempt.

Harry Is Honoring His Grandmother
Some believe that Prince Harry doesn’t truly give two figs about British royal tradition per se. Indeed, many people feel Prince Harry has proven that on multiple occasions. However, this time it could be that Prince Harry understands the implications and the bad public relations not only for the Monarchy but for the U.K. as a whole if he were to join Meghan in her political activism. Surely, Harry cannot desire to harm relations between the U.K. and the United States of America.
Therefore, British commentators think Harry is choosing to sit this American election cycle out to honor Queen Elizabeth. After all, it’s well-known that Queen Elizabeth is strictly neutral when it comes to politics. The Queen’s official website even notes that “As Head of State The Queen has to remain strictly neutral with respect to political matters. By convention, The Queen does not vote or stand for election; however, Her Majesty does have important ceremonial and formal roles in relation to the government of the U.K.”
