Prince Harry’s Royal Connections To Be Used In Producing For Netflix? – British Commentator Sounds Alarm

By now, most know about the incredible deal offered to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle by Netflix. Reportedly worth up to $150 Million (possibly more), the deal is supposed to see Meghan and Prince Harry producing content that is “family-oriented” and “inspirational.” The nature of the content the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are supposed to produce includes children’s shows, televisions series, documentaries, and films.

With that said, many believe that since Prince Harry and Meghan Markle signed the Netflix deal, they have jumped out of the frying pan and into the fire. That’s because Meghan Markle and Prince Harry will now be required to perform. In other words, the CEO of Netflix is going to expect that Harry and Meghan will produce “epic” levels of high-quality content that will ultimately justify the American media company’s investment in the former royals.

However, to do be able to pull off such a feat, royal experts are now suggesting that because neither Prince Harry nor Meghan Markle has film producing experience of any kind, Netflix will be ensuring some of its own creative people put a subtle but very real leash around the Sussex’s necks. That or Prince Harry will be calling in massive favors using his Royal connections.

As noted above, some royal critics believe that to be sure they can meet the demands of Netflix, Prince Harry might be squeezed into using whatever influence and resources he still has when it comes to his status as a former senior member of the British Royal Family.

For example, Richard Fitzwilliams, a British public relations consultant and the commentator said in an interview with British tabloids that, “The way they (Harry and Meghan Markle) handle their huge deal with Netflix and what they appear in their shows will be subject to relentless scrutiny to see how their royal connections are used, if at all.”

Mr. Fitzwilliams also suggested that “Were Harry, for example, to appear in a documentary about Diana, it would undoubtedly benefit charities. And when they are able to launch their non-profit charitable foundation, Archewell, they will undoubtedly put enormous emphasis on backing the causes they are committed to – diversity, gender equality, the environment, and mental illness.”

Mr. Fitzwilliam’s take on the issue was all rather positive; however, there is a downside to Harry and Meghan Markle’s involvement with Netflix. Not all is roses, as Meghan Markle seems ready according to reports to push the production of a documentary on the highly controversial figure of Patrisse Cullors, a Black Lives Matter co-founder.

While on the surface of it, this seems all about diversity and social justice, some believe that because it’s an election year, Meghan Markle is simply highlighting an individual who believes in socialism because progressives in America have been pulled to the far left … and everyone knows where the duchess stands politically. (Never mind that Meghan Markle’s super privileged personal status conflicts with many of her stated philosophies.)

Royals May Further Distance Themselves From Harry And Meghan

While no one is talking about it, the fact is that the British Royal Family is known to keep silent on political matters. Queen Elizabeth and Buckingham Palace are averse to controversy. Now that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have signed with Netflix, which is currently embroiled in a major scandal, the Crown may end up pushing Harry and Meghan farther than arm’s length.

Surely Queen Elizabeth and Prince Charles will have no wish to have their image or names associated with a company like Netflix, which former Democratic presidential candidate Tulsi Gabbard has accused of being “complicit in child sex trafficking.” Netflix has defended its distribution of the exploitative film, “Cuties.” However, American politicians from both sides of the political aisle have condemned both the film and its distribution by Netflix.

This could cause people who used to be close to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to suddenly lose the couples’ phone number. After all, the masses are sending a message when one of the major trending hashtags is #CancelNetflix.
