From the outside, Prince William and Kate Middleton’s has looked nothing short than glamorous with the incredible fashion show that they’ve put on for the world, but from the inside it’s a whole different story.
As a matter of fact, there’s a new report that suggests the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are currently being guarded by more than 1,000 police officers during their royal tour of Pakistan. Here’s what you need to know.
It’s been well over a decade since the last member of the British royal family has visited Pakistan, which is one of the reasons why this high-profiled tour has managed to generate so much excitement and buzz in both Pakistan and abroad.
British Monarchy Extra Cautious – Many Logistical And Security Considerations
However, one royal spokesperson says that the British monarchy is being extra cautious as a visit to Pakistan now is definitely not the same as it was 13 years ago. Prince Charles and his wife Camilla Parker-Bowles visited the country back in 2006.
Royal experts say that so far this has been one of the most complex tours taken by Prince William and Kate Middleton to date, mostly because of the logistical and security considerations.
According to Britain’s Express, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are being heavily guarded and for many different reasons, too. Pakistan supported the U.S. war on terror back in 2001 but also helped create the Taliban in Afghanistan. Reports also say they trained Al-Qaeda militants fighting with Osama Bin Laden.
Prince William And Kate Middleton Support Pakistan In Combating Terrorism
In a statement, Christian Jones, the couple’s communications secretary, added: “Whilst the Duke and Duchess’s program will pay respect to the historical relationship between Britain and Pakistan, it will largely focus on showcasing Pakistan as it is today – a dynamic, aspirational and forward-looking nation.”

It’s also been noted that Prince William and Kate Middleton are supporting Pakistan’s role in combating terrorism and promoting it again as a tourism destination. But when will that happen is anyone’s guess.
Despite the security concerns, the Duke and Duchess have so far had a very successful trip. A royal source said: “They are keen to put Pakistan back on the map as a country that is now much safer than many people think. William and Kate will also meet Oxford-educated prime minister and former cricketer Imran Khan and president Arif Alvi.” In the meantime, keep up with Celebrating the Soaps for all the latest news right here!
