Prince Harry and Meghan Markle surprised the world when they announced their royal exit to be private individuals. While the palace has been supportive of the couple’s decision to step down from their royal duties, many royal followers wonder how the move is causing Prince William and Prince Harry to drift apart. Reports say that those who are close to the princes revealed that the situation between them is worse than before.

Reports say that Prince William thinks that his brother “disrespected” the Monarchy, and most especially, the Queen, for his decision to go out on his own. Prince Harry, on the other hand, felt “insulted” by his brother’s recent remarks about their situation.

Has Prince Harry Disrespected the Monarchy?

Prince Harry is also reportedly unhappy as he felt he has been cut adrift by his own family. He felt that his wife, Meghan Markle, was not fully accepted and made to feel warmly welcomed to the royal family.

Some reports highlighted Prince Harry’s apparent dislike and irritation with his roles, particularly when he cut short his military career. While Harry, William, and Kate were a great trio, working on various royal duties and charitable activities together, behind the walls, Harry felt he was an unequal partner.

Clearly, Prince Harry and Prince William have different work cultures, and the list of the things they couldn’t agree on goes on. It does not help, as well, that Prince Charles made a comment that he was “touched” by the interest that Prince William has shown to the monarchy.

“I was deeply touched and moved by what he said. It practically reduced me to tears because I suddenly thought, ‘Well, just hearing that from him has made the last 50 years worthwhile.’” He said in a documentary film commemorating his 50 years as Duke of Cornwall.

You know how that can rub a younger brother in the wrong way. Not that he has shown ambition to be the king someday, but that he also needs some recognition from his family for all the work he’s done.

Harry and Meghan’s Last Official Royal Engagement

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle marked their last official royal engagement last Monday, March 9. They joined the Queen and other royal members at the Commonwealth Day service at Westminster Abbey. Royal observers have noted how the brothers greeted each other awkwardly, which they say was a sign of how bad they have drifted apart.

Since March 31, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have stopped using HRH titles. They are also no longer receiving public money.
