Apparently, the future king of England made an awkward gaffe when he told an actress who won a BAFTA for her coming-of-age film How to Have Sex that he hasn’t watched the movie yet.

Even though the film ends with her being raped, Prince William supposedly told the actress, “It looked like a lot of fun.” Yikes. That’s certainly not something you want to say.

Of course, many royal fans and critics alike sure did have a lot to say about the matter on social media.

Some even commented with, “Going to throw out a crazy idea…..the President of BAFTA should actually watch the films that were nominated. Or at least read the 2 minute long writeup on IMDB. Or would that involve too much work?” along with, “I wonder if this man is capable of opening his mouth without offending anyone.

It’s truly remarkable, isn’t he the BAFTA’s president? I know asking him to watch the movie is too much, but his team could at least give him a summary of the principal ones.”

Royal Family News – Prince William Doesn’t Have Time To Watch Movies?

Another critic wrote, “He is the president of BAFTAS and didn’t take the time to watch the films? Those movies are not from 2 months ago, so there no excuse. He is just lazy and doesn’t care.”

And then there was this comment as well: “Woefully unprepared for the day job. Glancing at summary of the nominated films storylines would have prevented the gaffe by the BAFTA president, but I suspect he believes his mere presence will suffice; no preparation needed.”

So far Prince William himself has not made any comments about the criticism.
