Prince William Says Queen Elizabeth Remembers Her American Trip “Fondly”

Boston is currently brimming with royal fans who braved the weather and the miles to catch a glimpse of the British royals.

Prince William and Princess Catherine’s 3-day US visit will wrap with the prestigious Earthshot Prize awards in Boston.

Upon their arrival, William thanked the people of Boston for their gracious welcome, and reflected on his grandmother’s visit to the beautiful state of Boston back in 1976.

Arriving in Boston on Wednesday in what is the couple’s first international travel since becoming the Prince and Princess of Wales, Prince William reflected on his grandmother’s legacy.

“On this, our first overseas visit since the death of my grandmother, I would like to thank the people of Massachusetts and particularly of Boston for their many tributes paid to the late Queen. She remembered her 1976 bicentennial visit with great fondness,” William said.

“My grandmother was one of life’s optimists. And so am I. That is why last year we launched the Earthshot Prize with the ambition to create a truly global platform to inspire hope and urgent optimism as we look to save the future of our planet,” he continued.

Queen Elizabeth died on September 8, 2022, a year and a few months after the death of her husband of 73 years, Prince Philip.

A few months after her death, news emerged that she suffered from cancer a year before she died.

Prince William and Catherine’s Warm Reception At Boston

On Wednesday, November 30, William and Catherine touched ground in the US for the first time in 8 years. Needless to say, their reception by the people of Boston was unprecedented.

The couple are also set to meet with the President of the United States sometime during their visit.

Their main reason for visiting is to host the second annual Earthshot Prize ceremony. The event will feature stars and environmental activists and will take place at MGM Music Hall on Dec. 2.
