Prince William’s Childhood Deficiencies Forged the Man He is Today

Prince William’s Childhood Deficiencies Forged the Man He is TodayBritish royal family news reveals that the latest book on the royal family, ‘Yes Ma’am: The Secret Life of Royal Servants’ will be released on Feb. 25 in the United States and Feb. 18 in the U.K.

On Feb. 6, The Times published an excerpt from the book, described as a “tell-all” and written by royal expert Tom Quinn. Here’s a sneak peak from the scintillating time.

Prince William’s Childhood

Quinn interviewed many current and former palace staffers for the book, which gives “a glimpse into the hidden lives of the royal family, along with the complexities of being royal in a modern world.” In ‘Yes Ma’am: The Secret Life of Royal Servants’ Quinn tells a particularly poignant tale about young Prince William.

The story was retold by a maid at Kensington Palace who witnessed many interactions between Prince William and Kate Middleton.

In one particular instance, “Kate had to explain many of the things that parents outside the royal family do with their children as a matter of course—she had to show him how to give the children a piggyback, for example.”

The employee said that after William understood what a piggy back ride entailed, he told Kate “My father never gave me a piggyback.'”

Prince William Will be the Next Regent

While Charles apparently didn’t indulge in the fun activity with William, there are published photos showing Diana give a piggyback ride to both of her sons, Prince William and Prince Harry.

By all accounts Diana wanted her kids to have a “normal” childhood, and this included taking them to amusement parks and to serve the homeless.

You’ll be happy to know that William has embraced fatherhood after marriage to Princess Catherine. They are the parents of Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, 9, and Prince Louis, 6 and, yes, he has been seen carrying his kids on his shoulders over the years.

The maid told Quinn “I don’t know where William would be without Kate—she hasn’t had everything done for her throughout her life, so she calms him down when he gets a bit fractious. She said he sometimes has to be treated as her fourth child.”

Additionally, Kate’s parents, Carole and Michael Middleton, are said to be important parental role models for William, who will be the next King of England following King Charles.
