Princess Eugenie expresses her pain at losing her grandmother, Queen Elizabeth. As many royal fans know, it’s been one year since the Queen of England passed away at the age of 96.

Eugenie took to her Instagram account to share a throwback photo of herself alongside her grandmother and shared a special message, too. Here’s what you need to know.

Sharing a photo of herself sitting on a bench next to her grandmother, Princess Eugenie captioned her photo with, Thinking of you today.

Missing you so much but remembering what a life of service, love and dedication to everyone and to your family, who loved you so very much. Forever grateful to you. And always in my heart.”

It goes without saying that many of Eugenie’s fans and followers quickly commented on her photo. Some of them wrote, “Miss our late Queen so much.

She was a wonderful lady. She dedicated 70 years to the throne. We will remember her always,” along with, “She was an absolutely incredible role model for you all and for the entire world.

If we all had that one person in our lives, the world would be a much better place. Peacefully resting with her beloved Philip and other members of her family.”

Royal Family News: Sarah Ferguson Shares a Special Message For Fans

Another royal fan wrote, “Thinking of you love! Nothing worse than losing a grandparent who’s always been there.

We will always remember and love your late grandmother, Her Late Majesty.”

Meanwhile, Eugenie’s mother, Sarah Ferguson, also shared a photo of the queen’s corgis on her Instagram account and wrote, “As we mourn a year on, we also celebrate the wonderful times we shared with Her Late Majesty the Queen. She entrusted me with the care of her corgis Sandy and Muick and I am delighted to say they are thriving.”

While Prince Harry and Prince William and Kate Middleton all marked the day by paying their respects to their grandmother by going to church, Princess Eugenie and her sister Princess Beatrice did it in a more private way.

They decided to mark the first anniversary of Queen Elizabeth’s death by staying indoors and away from the cameras.
