Even though it was Mother’s Day in the UK and in some other parts of the world this past weekend, there were a lot of people who were forced to sit home because of growing concerns of the coronavirus. Unfortunately for the British royal family, they too were forced to practice social distancing rather than celebrate the most important people in their lives: their moms.

That’s why Princess Eugenie made sure to show her mother Sarah Ferguson just how much she means to her in a very heartfelt and touching post on Instagram. At the same time, she also paid tribute to all of the NHS staff across the UK who are currently on the front lines fighting the global coronavirus crisis. Here’s what she has to say.

Sharing several photos of her and her mother, along with one of them together with her husband Jack Brooksbank, Princess Eugenie wanted everyone to know that while these are trying and uncertain times, we can’t forget those who have done so much for us. Princess Eugenie captioned her post with, “Today I want to celebrate my mumma but also all the amazing mothers out there. I would like to celebrate all the mothers that can’t be with their children today because they are saving lives or keeping their distance to keep them and their children safe. Today and every day we should tell our loved ones how much we love and cherish them.”

Needless to say, it didn’t take very long for her fans to respond. Some of them commented on her post with, “Aaaaaw you’re very lucky to have your beautiful and unique mummy with you for her special day. Treasure her forever,” along with, “Happy Mother’s Day Sarah. I hope you have a lovely day with your beautiful girls. It’s great to see that your family is staying together during these uncertain times.”

British Royals Practicing Social Distancing

Meanwhile, both Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle also paid tribute to mothers from around the world by posting their own messages on their Instagram accounts. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are currently practicing social distancing at home with their family while Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are in their own home in Canada.
