Princess Kate Decides To Join Prince William On This Important Royal OutingPrincess Kate recently revealed that she’s in remission after completing chemotherapy, but that doesn’t mean that the time has come to see the royal mom of three fully back in action.

She will keep pacing her calendar, while working on recovery and getting stronger everyday. But even though royal insiders say she’s got a “family first” mentality, she still knew how important it would be for the nation that she showed up for an event commemorating the Holocaust Memorial Day.

Princess Kate’s Latest Public Outing Has A Poignant Turn

Kate Middleton joined Prince William this Monday, Jan. 27, in London for the commemoration of the Holocaust Memorial Day. The day also happens to mark 80 years since the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau.

During the event, the Princess of Wales got to meet some old faces: two of them were Holocaust survivors who she happened to photograph for an exhibit marking the 75th anniversary of the Auschwitz liberation.

Thrilled to see Steven Frank and Yvonne Bernstein again, the Princess exclaimed, “I want to give you a big cuddle.”

According to Daily Mail, Frank, 89, thanked Kate for sending him a personal Christmas card. They then talked about his family. Later on, the Princess would admit, “[It is] such a treat for me [to see] an old friend.”

She also spent time with other survivors, getting to hear their stories and cheering them on about the life they’ve built for themselves since then.

The Princess, in general, was looking so beautiful and happy, it put smiles on the faces of royal fans. It was Kate’s first outing since she talked of her remission during an engagement on Jan. 14.

Holocaust Memorial Day honors the six million Jewish people who were murdered during the Holocaust. This also involves the millions killed under Nazi persecution and later genocides around the world.

The annual celebration is timed to the anniversary of the liberation of the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp in Poland on Jan. 27.
