Queen Camilla Instigated Prince William & Kate’s 2007 Breakup

British royal family news reveals that as a royal fan, you’re familiar with the Prince William & Kate Breakup Story. Princess Kate is the woman who will one day be queen, along with her husband William.

It’s hard to imagine a more fitting, accomplished, and gracious queen, but there was a time when Kate unceremoniously dumped!

Prince William and Kate Middleton met in 2001 at the University of St. Andrews and were involved by 2003.

There was a hiccup in 2007 when William called time out on the situationship for three months and now a scandalous story making the rounds alleges that it was none other than Queen Cruella Camilla who instigated the whole thing.

Royal Family News: Princess Kate Will be Queen Next

In 2007 Kate lived in London and William in Dorset. According to Marie Claire, they “broke up for about three months …trying to find their own way.”

The Daily Express reports that royal author Christopher Andersen, maintains that it was Camilla behind the split, because she did not deem Kate “worthy of royalty.”

Andersen described Camilla “a bit of a snob” who was proud of her royal connection via her great-grandmother, Alice Keppel.

Royal Family News: Is Camilla A Snob?

Andersen explains that Camilla is “an aristocrat” who “always thought of herself as the heiress to Alice Keppel, her great-grandmother, who was the mistress of Edward VII. She was very proud of that connection.

She boasted about that as a child and as an adult, and that’s what she intended to be—part of the royal circle in the role of mistress to the future king, and then the king.” Excuse us for harping on semantics, but isn’t ‘mistress’ just a nice word for ‘home wreaker?’

Royal Family News: Camilla Came Between William and Kate?

Andersen added that Camilla did not consider Kate “worthy of joining the royal family. Kate is the first working-class woman to be accepted into the royal family.

She is descended from coal miners and her mother was a flight attendant. So, for all those reasons, Camilla never really felt that Kate Middleton as an individual and the Middleton family as a whole were going to be worthy of entering into the royal family.”

Andersen told The Daily Beast of William and Kate’s 2007 breakup “I was in London when the breakup occurred … I was told at the time of the breakup, and later on as well, that Camilla basically whispered in Charles’ ear that it was really time to make—to force—William to make a decision one way or the other,” he said. “It has been since confirmed publicly that Charles did suggest to William that he either make a commitment to Kate or basically set her free, as it were.

Now, his motives for doing that may have been pure, but Camilla’s? Not so much. She was the instigator of this.” If true, Camilla certainly owes the nation an explanation for such appalling behavior.

Today Kate is one of the most beloved royals and some think she will be the only woman who can hold a candle to the late Queen Elizabeth’s reign.
