Annual Tea Time Canceled

Last week, Queen Elizabeth was supposed to have her annual tea time with the Women’s Institute. However, she ended up with a cold and had to cancel. Unfortunately, there will be no rescheduling as there is lots to do after “Megxit” took up much of her time earlier this month.

‘Megxit’ Derails Royal Family

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are currently in Canada with their infant son, Archie. They are dividing up their time between Canada and the United Kingdom. They have also stepped down from their senior positions in the Royal Family. This led to officials suddenly rushing around trying to find workable solutions.

This includes who is going to take over their royal duties? There is speculation that Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie could take over Harry and Meghan’s responsibilities.

Meanwhile, the rest of the Royal Family must continue their daily routines and conduct business as usual.

Queen Elizabeth’s First Royal Engagements of 2020

On Monday, Queen Elizabeth will visit RAF Marham in King’s Lynn. She will serve as Honorary Air Commodore, People magazine reported. Two days later, she will be present for the opening of the new Wolferton Pumping Station. It is to stop the area from flooding.

Then, on February 6, the same day her father King George VI passed away in 1952 — and the same day she took over the throne — she will finish her yearly visit to the estate.

Business as Usual

Even though there is still a lot to work out following “Megxit,” the Royal Family is conducting business as usual. Prince William and Kate Middleton have already attended a few public engagements. They are trying to put on brave faces, but there is speculation that they are still reeling from Harry and Meghan’s sudden announcement. However, the Royal Family will step up and handle it, just like they always have and always will.
