Queen Elizabeth Furious With Prince Harry And Meghan Over Lilibet Name

It looks like they might not have asked for her permission after all. There’s a new report that suggests Queen Elizabeth was none too pleased when she found out that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle had given their daughter the name Lilibet.

After all, that name belonged to the queen as a private nickname that only a handful of people were allowed to call her. Here’s what you need to know.

Apparently, Queen Elizabeth was livid when she found out that Harry and Meghan had given their daughter the name Lilibet.

The queen’s granddaughter was born back in June 2021 in California and was given the name Lilibet Diana, after both her great grandmother and her grandmother, Princess Diana.

It seems like the Duke and Duchess of Sussex did not give the queen a heads up about their decision to use her nickname for their daughter.

Did Harry And Meghan Cross A Line?

As many royalists probably already know, Queen Elizabeth was only called Lilibet by those who were near and dear to her, including her beloved husband, Prince Philip.

There was also no way that anyone would ever dare call the queen by her nickname in public which is probably why she was upset by Harry and Meghan’s decision to use the name for their daughter.

Prince Harry has always maintained that he had a good relationship with his grandmother before her death, but some royal insiders say that he might have caused her more stress than anything else.

Of course, the queen was saddened over Harry and Meghan’s decision to leave the royal family. And as much as they wanted to build their own lives in California, they tried to hang on to their royal connection back in the UK.

Naming their daughter Lilibet was just another example of how Harry and Meghan wanted to still be seen as royals.

So far both Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have made no comments about the matter.
