Queen Elizabeth Is Making More Of An Effort To Get To Know Meghan Markle

If there is one thing that Queen Elizabeth doesn’t want, it’s to repeat history. That might be one of the reasons why she is making more of an effort to get to know Prince Harry’s wife, Meghan Markle. That’s because she doesn’t want to make any of the same mistakes that were made before Princess Diana’s death.
According to the documentary, Harry and Meghan: The First 100 Days, Her Majesty is learning from lessons of the past. Royal biographer Duncan Lacombe along with royal author Katie Nicholl both believe that Queen Elizabeth has put in more of an effort to treat Meghan fairly. She has also given her more time to learn the ropes, seeing how the world she is now living in behind palace doors is one that she’s never experienced before.
While Queen Elizabeth might not like a lot of the things Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have done, or how they operate as a team, she’s learned to take a step back. That’s because she supposedly sees the former actress as someone who is a tour de force, just like Princess Diana used to be during her prime. The last thing that the Queen wants is to be criticized for holding Meghan back when so many royal fans are praising her for moving the royal family forward with her more ‘modern’ approach and ideas.
Speaking about Harry and Meghan’s next chapter, Nicholl believes that it was almost inevitable that the Sussexes would split from Prince William and Kate Middleton to create their own household. She told Marie Claire in an interview, “I think it was a part of Harry’s development. It was always going to be the case when he met and fell in love with someone and married that person. For so many years he’s been a team with his brother, sort of the third wheel with Will and Kate, which actually worked far better than anyone expected it to. It feels right to me. It feels like the natural thing for him to be doing.”
With that being said, Nicholl adds that there might be some tension behind the scenes, too. She further explained, “However, I think without a doubt there has been tension behind the scenes. It’s been a learning curve for Meghan, and it’s been a learning curve for Harry as well. Ultimately, he found a soulmate in Meghan—that person to share the load with, something he’s spoken about wanting for years. In her he found a new confidence to be his own person.”

It is not known how much or how little we read in the tabloids is correct, is manufactured, or is some combination of the two. That being said, it is clear that Meghan is a tour de force in her strong beliefs and work ethic. Just how all of that plays out will take time, and, hopefully the Queen understands this and will not only show patience but also provide help and guidance. Entering the “Firm” cannot be easy; however, it can be eased considerably by true acceptance and gentle direction.
