According to new reports, Britons are being urged to rally together to help the elderly as the coronavirus continues to take its toll. They are being urged to stay home with some reports suggesting that the elderly might be required to stay indoors for at least four months.
To date, the novel virus has infected an estimated 162,000 people worldwide, with under half of them in China. Over 6,000 people have died, with 3,085 of the deaths in China as well. Many nations have declared a national state of disaster while governments are looking to close their borders and restrict air travel.

Over the weekend, the EU states recorded the highest one-day death toll. Italy saw 368 deaths on Sunday, bringing its total to 1,809. Spain recorded 97 more deaths for a total of 288, while France reported 29 deaths, giving it a total of 120. In the UK, there were 14 new deaths, bringing their total to 35. In Spain, police drones are enforcing movement restrictions in the country’s fight against the coronavirus infection.
So far Queen Elizabeth herself has not made any comments about the coronavirus but earlier reports had indicated that Her Majesty has cleared her calendar of royal engagements and public appearances for the next week. But seeing how many schools and business are closing their doors until at least the end of the month and if not longer, there’s a very strong possibility that both the Queen, at 93, and her 98-year-old husband Prince Philip will remain in isolation.
