For Queen Elizabeth, it’s business as usual. Even though the entire world is on pins and needles because of the global pandemic that is the Covid-19, coronavirus outbreak, Queen Elizabeth and the rest of the family is keeping calm and carrying on. Or at least, that’s what her hope is.
There are new reports that say despite the UK government urging everyone to remain on lockdown and practice as much social distancing as possible, Queen Elizabeth met with Commodore Steven Moorhouse and Captain Angus Essenheigh at Buckingham Palace on Wednesday, March 18th.

While there is no doubt that the staff behind the scenes at Buckingham Palace are doing all they can to make sure that the palace remains cleaned and sanitized at all times, many royal fans are surprised that Her Majesty had decided to carry out her royal engagements during a very critical time in the world right now.
Thankfully, new reports indicate that Queen Elizabeth has cleared her schedule of any upcoming meetings and public appearances in the coming weeks, as she will retreat to Windsor Castle along with her husband, Prince Philip. In a statement issued on Thursday morning, a palace spokesperson said that Queen Elizabeth has decided to reschedule a state visit of the Emperor and Empress of Japan at a later date.
“After consultation with Her Majesty’s Government and the Government of Japan, Her Majesty The Queen has agreed that, in the current circumstances, the planned State Visit to the United Kingdom in Spring 2020 by Their Majesties the Emperor and Empress of Japan should be postponed. The State Visit will be rescheduled at a later date.”

Buckingham Palace Reschedules Events
If that weren’t enough, Buckingham Palace also said that a series of summer garden parties at Buckingham Palace will be rescheduled, along with overseas tours. Queen Elizabeth will monitor the growing concern of the coronavirus outbreak from Windsor Castle/
Meanwhile, Princess Beatrice has also been forced to cancel her May wedding to her fiancé, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi. Seeing how Mozzi is Italian, many of his family and friends were scheduled to fly from Italy. However, Italy has been severely hit with the coronavirus crisis, with the death toll now at 3,405.
