Queen Elizabeth’s Annual Christmas Celebration Threatened By Revolting Staff

British Royal Family news reveals that another cherished UK royal family tradition could fall victim to the coronavirus pandemic. It is now being speculated that Queen Elizabeth’s annual family Christmas at Sandringham could be canceled for the first time in 33 years.

Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth is in isolation at Windsor Castle with her husband Prince Philip right now and this follows a month-long period of isolation at their Norfolk estate.

According to one Sandringham source, “We have been told not to expect them back for Christmas.” That is pure speculation at this point and has not been confirmed by the palace. But, it is a rumor that has been circulating for some time now.

Will the Queen’s Family Christmas At Sandringham Go On As Scheduled This Year?

That’s because it has been said that the estate personnel is not pleased with a plan to have them quarantine away from their own families as they work for the royals. Nonetheless, that protocol is a standard operating procedure in this time of COVID.

It is reported that Philip and the Queen are isolating at Windsor as a means of trying to calm down the situation after the Sandringham estate workers revolted when they heard that they would be away from their families for the holidays.

All in all, it is thought that nearly two dozen staff were asked to stay on and work during the festive period without being able to leave to see their families and their families were not invited to isolate with them.

The group is believed to consist of cleaners, laundry, and maintenance workers and are reportedly refusing to stick to the queen’s proposal which would be for a one-month period.

The Royal Staff Are Believed To Have Refused To Quarantine Away From Their Families During Christmas

But according to a Buckingham Palace spokesman, “No final decision has been taken on Christmas.” Despite this one insider is claiming otherwise: “Nothing has been resolved as a staff is still refusing to quarantine from their families.”

They added, “So it’s looking almost certain they can’t have Christmas inside the big house at Sandringham. It is possible, of course, to arrange a smaller one for Philip and the Queen at Wood Farm cottage.”

They explained, “moving the Queen and Duke to Windsor, where they know the bubble works, makes it simpler to start planning to stay there for Christmas.”
