Royal Family Insiders Spill Sad Update To Prince Harry, Prince Charles’ Relationship

Prince Harry, Prince CharlesThe royal family traditionally gathers together to celebrate Christmas. For instance, in 2017 Prince Harry and his then bride-to-be Meghan Markle beamed as the couple joined the entire royal family for their traditional Christmas Day service. And that seemed like a happy predictor for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s wedded bliss future.

But rather than leading up to royal family togetherness, Harry’s and Meghan’s Christmas Day with The Firm, as the royals are known, got followed by gradually escalating rumors of problems. And in the wake of their now infamous exit from The Firm, Harry has faced even more reports of clashes with his royal relatives. Can the Duke of Sussex at least find peace with his father Prince Charles? Learn what experts revealed below.

What Really Caused Prince Charles And Prince Harry Rift?

Royal family experts recently spilled the truth about Prince Harry’s relationship with his father Prince Charles. And what these insiders told Us Weekly also reveals what really caused their rift. First, Charles got quite miffed when Meghan and Harry exited the royal family in 2020. And second, the Prince of Wales, 73, became even more angry when his 37-year-old son gave repeated interviews bashing The Firm.

As a result, the father and son face “a lot of issues the two of them need to work out,” added the source. Prince Charles reportedly has not even really talked with Prince Harry since the Duke and Duchess of Sussex gave their spill-it-all interview to Oprah Winfrey. And that means both father and son must work before they can even begin to mend their relationship.

Why Charles Will NOT Forgive Harry

Could Christmas provide a chance for Prince Charles to forgive and forget? Royal family insiders hint that it’s unlikely for several reasons. For instance, in Harry’s first TV interview after he and Meghan exited the royal family, the Duke of Sussex claimed that his father cut off any financial assistance and even declined his son’s phone calls.

But Harry, in contrast to his father, has at least shared his love and concern for Charles. “I feel really let down because he’s been through something similar, he knows what pain feels like … Archie is his grandson,” pointed out Harry. “I will always love him. There’s a lot of hurt that’s happened. I will continue to make it one of my priorities to heal that relationship.”

However, despite those comments, the Duke of Sussex subsequently slammed Prince Charles’ parenting methods. “My father used to say to me when I was younger, he used to say to [Prince] William and I, ‘Well, it was like that for me, so it’s gonna be like that for you.’ That doesn’t make sense,” accused Harry. “Just because you suffered, it doesn’t mean that your kids have to suffer. In fact, quite the opposite. If you suffered, do everything you can to make sure that whatever experiences, negative experiences that you had, you can make it right for your kids.”

Meghan Markle Fuels Charles, Harry Feud

All these comments from Prince Harry caused Prince Charles to feel “hurt” and “disappointed,” revealed another royal family insider. Add in fuel from Meghan Markle, and the rift seems to have widened in recent months. Meghan’s allegations about “concerns and conversations about how dark [Archie’s] skin might be when he was born” reportedly have added to the royal family’s anger at the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

As a result of this history, an insider told Page Six, Charles and Harry seem frustrated with one another. However, the source did hint that at least “the channels of communication are open.” But it’s not “all roses,” added the insider.

“It’s not like they are sitting down for a heart-to-heart on the phone once a week,” clarified the source.  As for future opportunities for father and son to meet in person? Harry and Meghan have no plans to travel to the UK for Christmas, revealed another insider. And with the exception of Charles, the royal family has made peace with the situation. “I think the family accept the situation. They’re not annoyed. They’re accepting things for how they are,” added the source.
