British royal family news reveals whom Queen Elizabeth may miss the most this Christmas as the country’s COVID lockdown is putting a crimp in her normally festive holiday plans. It’s no secret that her extended family is invited to a huge bash to celebrate Christmas, but this year it is a no-go due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Instead, she and her 99-year-old husband Prince Philip will stay in lockdown together. Missing will be the laughter of her great-grandchildren and the visits from her own children.

And halfway around the world will be one family member who she hasn’t seen since March. That is Prince Harry who dumped his family to flee to the land of money and sunshine, Los Angeles.

Who Will Queen Elizabeth Miss The Most This Christmas?

It will no doubt be difficult for the monarch to be apart from her jubilant family as the holidays wear on. It is a definite first for the world’s longest serving monarch who typically enjoys a residence full of people as well as staff.

But is there one person in particular the queen will be missing more than others? According to royal expert Penny Junor, the queen will likely feel the acute absence of her grandson the Duke of Sussex and his family, wife Meghan Markle and their young son.

It will not be the first year she has missed Christmas with them, but the fact that COVID has taken a toll on her family may also weigh heavily on her mind and make Harry’s departure that much sadder.

Prince Harry Will Be Spending Christmas In The US While The Monarch Is In The UK

Harry has her youngest great-grandchild and according to Junor, “I am sure the Queen will be very sad not to see Harry and Megan and her youngest great-grandchild. I think she has a very soft spot for Harry.”

Junor told Express UK, “Harry gets on very well with his cousins and I guess he will miss seeing them and, of course, he will miss spending time with his grandparents whom he adores.”

She went on to add that Harry, “will miss the charity football match that he and William instigated several years ago, between the home team – them and the estate workers – and the locals,” she said.

But will he really? After all he now has millions of dollars of his own to spend and isn’t that what he really wanted?
