British royal family news divulges that Princess Eugenie may not be the only royal doing a bit of house swapping these days. When the news broke that she and her husband Jack Brooksbank had taken over Prince Harry’s Frogmore Cottage, royal watchers were stunned.
Now the word on the cobblestone street is that her sister Princess Beatrice and her husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi could follow suit and relocate.
The UK Royalty May Be Engaged In A Game Of Musical Houses
Following Princess Eugenie’s move from the Kensington Palace residence Ivy Cottage, royal experts are watching to see if Beatrice and her husband, who are currently living in St James’s Palace, also pack up and move.
Eugenie has moved into Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s former UK residence, Frogmore Cottage, and it remains to be seen if someone else moves into her old digs.
It was initially thought that Beatrice and Mapelli could move into Nottingham Cottage but it is a smaller residence with just two bedrooms, while Ivy Cottage boasts three bedrooms.
Who Will Be The Next On The Move Among The Royal Family?
If the pair do decide to move to Kensington Palace, they will have Prince William and Kate Middleton, as well as Prince and Princess Michael of Kent, as neighbors. Princess Margaret and Diana, Princess of Wales also once lived on the grounds of the London Palace.
Eugenie moved into Frogmore Cottage ahead of her baby’s expected arrival next year. She announced her pregnancy in the fall and the palace has confirmed that the next royal is due in early 2021.
About Eugenie’s move to Frogmore, a source told The Sun, “Removal vans pitched up in the dead of the night and cleared out the cottage. They definitely did not want to be seen.”
“They” being Meghan Markle and Prince Harry who made an exceptionally big deal of having the taxpayer pay for renovations before famously declaring it unfit to live in.
Members Of The Royal Family Were Said To Be “Blindsided” By Harry And Eugenie’s Plans
The source added, “Emptying their home and handing over the keys is a pretty strong sign Harry and Meghan have no plans to return. It appears they are tying up loose ends as they plan to extend their stay in the US perhaps permanently.”
Sources told The Sun that members of the Royal Family were “blindsided” by Harry and Eugenie’s plans: “Senior royals were initially blindsided by the idea for Harry and Meg to let Eugenie and Jack move in. Obviously the Queen was told after the couples had spoken about the plan.”
